Favorite Manga/light novels that you like more than the anime adaptation? Or favorite manga/light novels with no anime adaptation?

I personally like Spice&Wolf Light novel more than the anime, it was really descriptive and evoking in my opinion. [edit to add: im still looking forward to the anime remake tho!]

but I probably liked Violet Evergarden anime more than the light novel (i never finished the light novel, and then i broke my kindle

i still haven’t read or seen violet evergarden but i’ll keep your opinion in mind!

in terms of anime, i find the One Punch Man manga insanely more interesting (artistically)! you can really appreciate the mangaka’s style and humour!

I really like the Promised Neverland series, the whole thing is a mystery. The second season of the adaptation was less than stellar. I also liked the overlord light novels, the anime is good, but it's missing so much.

natsume’s book of friends<3 I adore the anime but they don’t always adapt the manga the way I’d like. also bungou stray dogs manga and light novels cause I have a lot of criticisms with how they were adapted in the anime series

I like Blue Exorcist as an anime, especially second season was well done, but I love manga so much more. Mangaka’s artstyle, ambiance, little inside jokes that are drawn as extras… It’s ongoing and I’ve been reading it for many years, but Aoex still has my heart

As for light novels, I reeeeally enjoyed Jujutsu Kaisen. It was very interesting for me as a jjk fan to read and learn more about characters!

While ダンジョン (dungeon Meshi) has been very popular due to the Netflix adaptation (and it is my favourite, Marcille my beloved) I might as well recommend my other favorite:

「とんがりのアトリエ」Tongari Boshi no Atorie or, Witch Hat Atelier. Some of the absolutely most magnificent art and world building I have ever seen. Every part of it has the wonder and majesty of feeling like a little kid exploring the fantasy world of fairy tales. It's getting an anime too! I'm so excited

I know the feeling! If i had the money, there are so many manga sets i want to buy, some that i have read (in english) and some that i haven't (in either language), and they would motivate me so much to learn japanese! I would love to just have a room dedicated to manga but alas, i cannot afford it. I also wish I could download manga on my kindle, but I managed to break my kindle by dropping, of all things, a kendama ball on it

i also wish they made kindles with a bigger screen, as the e-ink display is nice to read mangas on, but the screen from the paperwhite manga/comic edition that i had still felt a little small. two screens on a folding version would be really cool too, because a lot of manga and comics have those full 2 page illustrations that are lovely

i have the first 12 pokemon adventure books in english that i bought for my brother but he never read them! i love green from pokemon adventures and i kinda wish she was in the original pokemon anime. total blast of nostalgia, did you see the one shot movie they did about red? i mean i dont think it followed pokemon adventures as much as the original games, but it still hit me right in the nostalgia feels for sure T__T
