There's something strange about the N4 sentences schedule. I have not studied anything from it yet, but it shows as 80 % studied. Is it almost completely overlapped by the N5 sentences, or is this a bug?
There was an unintentional overlap in coverage in the code that generated those stats. You should get updated values within 24 hours or so. Thanks for bringing it up!
I have not studied anything in N4 sentences, but it shows up as 84 % studied still. It's not a huge thing, but since you did spend the time to fix it, I thought it would be nice to give some feedback on the fix.
Also, I have studied everything in N5 sentences, but it does not show as 100 %. I assume it's because of reason b) in the image below:
Can I do anything about this? Should I do anything about this? Maybe the calculation for % of a schedule's term you have studied should only count what you can study, and disregard the 17 items I cannot study when calculating the percentage.
Issue: 2 of 3 expected entries for パス aren't appearing in either the dictionary or advanced search.
Secondary issue: the currently visible result is marked with the "Computers" tag. I think it's meant to be on the definition that includes "path (of a file, directory, etc.) / path (in vector graphics); vector" because they used to be in the same entry.
JMDict 1101440 - パス (passing): This entry is present with no extra work required to see it.
JMDict 2861508 - パス (path): Searching for "file path" and "directory path" brings up the "passing" entry, but this entry is otherwise visually missing. I think the entry exists somehow?
JMDict 2861515 - パス ( calipers ): This entry is present, but it's hidden in both the dictionary and the advanced search unless we search for calipers .

One of the missing entries is visible when searching "calipers":
.
The second missing entry (for things like "file path" and "directory path") might be hiding behind the "passing" entry?
This is the result of hitting "you have a bonus" in landscape mode, then rotating to portrait mode. It doesn't redraw the box to match the new screen dimensions.
Sorry for letting this stuff stack up - I will respond to everyone, I promise, but a few quick responses now:
1. Hanko is an older feature that is disabled by default, and no plans to replace the icon for it.
2. I cannot say where those crossword puzzles went, but I probably am not going to go back and re-add them, especially given the crazy number of puzzles already available.
3. My popup system (like the one for the coins) is VERY VERY old (maybe the oldest code on renshuu), and it's simply not possible to have it redraw the windows on an orientation change without 10s of hours of work to overhaul the entire system. It's a wish of mine to get it done one day, but for now, it'll have to remain as is.
1. Changed "Preferred Language" to "Dictionary Language" 2. For now, given how much unlocalized language is already in renshuu, I hesitate to add another "hide position markers" string to the system.
3. @オイスタイン - I completely missed your follow-up post when you first made it, sorry! It looks like you have done the pre-intermediate sentences in the meantime, so that issue is resolved? As to the n5, ..hmm..there are ways to study those, it's the "Basic" study vector. Those percents are "simple" in the sense that they do not look at schedule settings (or anything else, really) - it's just a "is there study data attached to this term or not". If you wanted, you could go to Tools > Advanced Search, select that schedule, then set the mastery level for "Basic" up to 9 for all terms (since you most likely will not use that vector anyway) to alleviate the issue.
Everything has been going fine ever since I got the app, but as of today, every time I open the app, it tries to get me to sign in. Also, the dashboard isn't right; the bar at the top of the screen is gone, and whenever I change the visual settings to dark mode (which I always use) and save changes, it immediately resets to light. I'm not sure what to do
The unhide event link is on the same page as the events, but doesn’t appear after you hide an event. You have to leave the page and return to it first.
Since this repeatedly has been a source of confusion, it should be changed to appear immediately when an event is hidden.
More of a minor inconvenience than a bug/problem, but I've noticed that the input window on sentence discussion lacks a scrolling feature. Of course if you add a new line, the window expands, however if instead you keep typing a long continuous string, it will expand the window slightly, but eventually the text will go out of sight. In a browser on a computer you can scroll through it with keyboard cursors, however this also happens in the Android app, where cursor scrolling is a bit more inconvenient as you need to "catch" the cursor and drag it around with your finger.
Just thought I'd share what I find to be a bit of an inconvenience :)
(wasn't sure if I should put it here or as a separate thread)
I've been having an issue where certain terms will show furigana for certain kanji even when I know the term and all the kanji in it. (When I tap on the term, the "known" lightbulb is unchecked, and even if I click it there, it's unchecked again the next time the term shows up.)
I frequently have this issue on the Android Renshuu app where the dictionary pops up, without my having tapped on any words in the sentence, and I'm unable to close it. The popup often blocks me from seeing the multiple choice answers. The best I can do in these situations is to try tapping a different word to get the popup to move out of the way, or else I have to end the quiz and restart the app.
