1) Adjectives and nouns are also often used in this construction:
N/A + とはいう + ものの

いとはいうものの、まだからない。
Although it's easy, I still don't get it.

2) The (usual) construction for nouns is still missing:
N + である + ものの

It's also used in the model sentence: うけるつもりであるものの.

Thanks for the info. Verified it, and added it to the page (also made a small correction with the な-adj construction that was already on there.)

In the how to use section, it says to use the dictionary form when using a verb and yet, in the first example it uses the casual past tense for う. Should the how to use the verb form say 'Casual form' rather than 'dictionary form'?

I'm a little confused about the difference between ものの and のに. Are there times when these two are interchangeable? In my mind, these mean the same thing.

The only guidance I’ve been able to find about the difference between ものの and のに is that ものの is more ‘literary’. のに expresses a little bit of disappointment in the situation, and ものの seems a little milder. Can anyone confirm?
