I've been learning Japanese from scratch and just recently finished the Hiragana and Katakana schedules. I've been doing a lot of extra focused reviews just whenever I'm bored, but I still feel unsure with my knowledge. Is it good to just move on to Japanese Basics and have it all kind of just come together, or should I keep studying these two for now until I feel much more confident? I ask because I would hate to rush through these things and then end up frustrated and possibly stop learning entirely. Thank you so much!
Hard to know, but how about adding the first vocabulary schedule and starting on it? It's a pity to let your knowledge of the kanas sit there unused except for flahcard practice. If you find it's overwhelming, you can always freeze the vocab schedule and return to your initial ones. Don't worry if you struggle a little at first, it probably won't feel as easy as the schedules you're always familiar with, but it's a great way to consolidate what you already know and move forward. It might feel more rewarding, too!
Start small, set it just a few new words a day, even one if you're worried you won't keep up.
