So honestly it depends on your traits and how much time you have to practice japanese. Like me I have a bad memory so I find it harder plus I don't have a lot of time to do japanese. Your also only on level 3 so your just learning some of the first letters of hiragana or katakana. It will get harder as time goes on and trying to remember 104 letter per alphabet can be extremely hard. So I'd wait until you're a little bit further to decide what you think. I don't have much to say being level 9 but just wait hope this helps.

Of course it depends on a lot of things. Someone who knows Chinese is already at a massive advantage. I've also heard Korean speakers have an easier time learning Japanese. Having general language learning experience also helps a lot.
One thing to note is that when people talk about difficulty, it's often in the context of monolingual English speakers. Although it's still a very difficult language for people of many different linguistic backgrounds. For example, my native language makes it easier for me to learn Serbian or Ukrainian, but doesn't do all that much when it comes to Japanese.
So I'm not sure if your going to see this the user that just posted a min or 2 ago but that's great reasoning as my original language being English i would think that it would be a lot harder to learn Japanese just because of all the differences but yes I have heard that Chinese and Korean have similar rules which make it just that much easier but I'm only learning th letter and have not spoken yet but once I have learned to I'll be sure to come back.
Depends how you navigate it. Is there a lot of content to learn? Yes. Does some of the grammar contain sophisticated concepts subjective to their use? Yes. For me, I don't see it that hard or complicated enough to say it is all that mysterious and complex. There are very simple patterns; only the multitudes of these things gets overwhelming. Forgetting about them would make it tougher to understand and compare. If you really, really got used to things and able to spot much of the differences and nuance, miscommunication wouldn't happen very often.
The first time you're exposed to it, it's like meeting a new person. You don't know much about them. Over time, you get used to them and their quirks. When you're confident that you can define their personality, to spot their patterns, then it becomes easier to interpret them.
But to do so, you have to allow yourself time to invest in getting to know them. It's really only hard if you have a difficult relationship with it. You have to really be in the know to figure it out.
