Several times when I try to drag & drop my items into my garden, I accidentally released when the “overlap” warning shows, & then that item disappears from both the garden & “My Stuff”. Is it a common issue & is there a fix? Thanks!
It does seem to happen to a number of people. Usually the missing item is either hidden behind something else or off screen. If you can’t find it by moving things around, you may need to ask Michael to retrieve it for you.
The “fix” is to back up your garden before you start playing with it. I realize it’s too late to tell you that now, but at least you should be able to prevent it from happening again.
Do you remember which item it was?
What's supposed to happen when you release an item while it "overlaps" something is for it to "snap" back to where you started dragging it from. If it's still somewhere in your Garden it won't show up in "My Stuff".
Update: You don't seem to have any hidden or off-screen items, at least as far as I can tell from looking at the code.
Hi, thanks both for replying & helping me check. I checked “My stuff” again today & I’m glad to find that the missing items are all there. Will definitely make backing up a habit!
Going back to the original issue, I'd love to get a repeatable set of specific steps (a video would be GREAT) to recreate the issue, so I can fix it.
Hi, I can’t seem to recreate the issue
Now items just snap back to its original position like what you’ve said. I also tried zooming in & moving items but they behave normally, too. If I encounter it again I’ll try to record it! Thanks a lot~
マイコーさん, I just found out how to recreate it!!
It happens when I tap on an item in “My Stuff” to place it in the garden, & the first spot it lands on is already overlapping with another item. If I don’t drag it to a safe spot, it’ll disappear. The item reappears in “My Stuff” once I reload the garden.
The screen recording is here. Let me know if you have trouble accessing it!
Thanks! (Sorry for the delay). Will work on a fix. Feel free to remove the video.
Question: in any of your testing, does the steps you gave above cause it to just snap back to where it started, but remain present? Surprisingly, I'm unable to replicate your situation. In my test, I placed something new, then clicked to drag it - I got it somewhere where it was no longer overlapping (like our video), then brought it back to an overlapping spot, and it simply moves back to where it started after I let go.
Can you see any differences if you try the following?
1. Move it JUST a little bit, but keep it overlapping on the same item
2. Move it off, then onto a completely different item.
