The setting in the above image will be removed and turned of on all accounts on August 1st, 2026. Until then, it can be found under Vocabulary in the main settings panel.

Before that date, if you do not have it turned on, or turn it off, it will stop appear, and cannot be re-enabled.

Reason for removal

This is a feature that played a much more prominent role in the way renshuu was set up 7+ years ago. There were a certain number of special textbook-based vocabulary lists that had "suggested" kanji for that level, which also mirrored the kanji that was present in the kanji study lists.

These lists are almost entirely gone from renshuu (replaced by newer versions of the lists), but they still stick around here and there. Additionally, because the new setting clashes with the advanced learning settings that renshuu has for kanji now, it can create very strange bugs that are hard to nail down.

Because of that, this setting will be removed. The actual removal will affect an extremely small number of users (often for the better, as issues of "this schedule will not quiz correctly" will largely vanish), but in the spirit of transparency, I wanted to make this announcement.
