Love the app. Wanted to ask, would it be possible to introduce these features?
1. The ability to study multiple vectors per term in one quiz, rather than just in one day.
2. The ability to prevent new terms from being added to daily schedule based on X% of terms that have achieved proficiency level Y (for example, I have 100 terms with level 4 proficiency or below out of 300, I should not be learning new terms)
3. I'd love a dialogue listening exercise with questions to answer afterwards as a quiz.
Posted on Discord too for convenience.
I'm not sure if I understood 1 correctly but I it is possible by tweaking the settings.
3 is a great idea (I had a similar idea about having short stories, maybe 5-6 sentences each) but I assume it would be difficult as Michael would have to manually create these dialogues and questions 1 by 1, or use AI and end up with Duolingo-like dialogues
1. This will not happen - it's largely due to the way that the quizzes were structured many, MANY years ago when I designed them. It's not that it's impossible, rather, it's that it would take way too much time to "fix" the system to handle this request.
2. This is an interesting one, but not something I can consider at the moment. I suspect that it would quickly turn into a *lot* of different possible conditions and ranges that would need to be considered: everyone on renshuu kinda studies their own way, and I could see things like "don't allow new unless x level of accuracy in recent quizzes", for example, not just tied to mastery level. It is most likely a much larger feature than it appears to be.
3. While this would be amazing, it's simply beyond our capabilities. Doing just a single sentence of
A. Native speaker writes it
B. Add English translation
C. Link words to dictionary
D. Add native audio
E. Check audio
is a few minutes of work (for a single sentence), and this is before adding any kind of bespoken questions (which would be required for the quizzing). On top of that, unfortunately, these kinds of questions have a lot less "replay" value because the questions cannot be generated automatically, so once you've seen (or heard) a dialogue a few times, it's kinda in your head (for most people).
I'm sorry for such a negative reply - but I'd rather be direct with my responses than say "maybe one day" for everything when some things just aren't realistic for us as a 2-person, free app company.
