I've set a cap on the number of words to review per day and stopped introducing new words, in an attempt to progress in mastery. But I've noticed that Renshuu is prioritizing all of the level 5-6 mastery words that I already know relatively well, leaving the ~100 red level 1 words unstudied. Is this the intended behavior? Of the words due for study how does Renshuu pick which ones will be in my quiz?

Also does anyone have a recommendation on the pace settings for number of new words to include per day for a sustainable number of words to review? I have a couple vocab and a kanji schedule set to about 45 words each for the daily cap. My overall goal is to study about 30min a day.

How it sorts it out is the ones you got wrong in the last quiz but sometimes it just puts old words in to refresh your memory. For me the number for learning would be 14 and words to review would be 30. Yet I learn 20 new words and review words are 40. How do you limit the number of words to review? And plus, hope you find this information helpful.

Check setttings->quizzing, my understanding is that on a basic level there is no difference between lvl 5 and lvl 1 other than the review interval is 15d for lvl 5 and 1d for lvl 1, but after a month both have same priority.
you can fix it either by using “mix in weaker terms” scroll in settings or by using focused study button in schedules which lets you select “lowest mastery” or “mistakes recently”
