**[Improvements]**
Toggle for two different kinds of heatmaps (not yet possible through the kaochan box)
Sentence questions panel - way to filter out alternate translations and content notes
Speed improvement on kanji searches
On sentence notes, private notes (written by yourself) placed on top
Word/kanji notes will remember your last saved privacy setting.
You can now focus on specific vectors in Focused Review
New "kpair" option added for vocab exports (shows kanji/kana when kanji is present, otherwise kana only)
New setting (main settings panel) for how to order word usage notes (newest, oldest, most popular)
You can now block user notes on grammar that you are not interested in seeing.
Setting added to My Lists on dashboard so you can expand it out vertically.
Audio/image should be loading much faster now!
Graphs under the Stats panel should show more data when viewing by year
Bookmark icon now added to the (... More) dropdown on user-made lists.
Better display of correct/incorrect answers in jumble questions
Vast update of Hungarian definitions
Better content reporting form
Added one more expression to the Expectations lesson for N3. (つもりで)
Expanded the explanation on the N5/Frequency grammar lesson
Small update added to かもしれない lesson (Clause Endings: Supposition) to discuss the usage without しれない.
Can now filter lists by "learned in the last xx days" options
Better binding between hiragana and katakana versions of the same word (ex: たばこ and タバコ) so example sentences are easier to access.
Your own vocab usage notes will always come first in the list.
Translators can now subscribe to the discussion for their language.
Note put up on conjugation table for one-kanji+する verbs (ex. 愛する).
The recently (in the last year) added tags in the dictionary (vocab and kanji) now better obey the "show tags in dictionary" user setting
For sentence/grammar discussions, if someone responds to your message and then removes their response, it will also remove the "you have a reply!" alert in your inbox.
In settings > motivators, and on the Me > Friends page, you can now block friend invites.
Conjugation system can now handle the classical き noun form for i-adjectives
Settings on New term (words) introduction page to auto-play audio.
Sentence notes no longer expose a @xxxx number when replying (cleaner interface)
Better layout flow with sentence comments, and clearer forms so replies go where they need to go
More unified styling in settings panel
Clearer explanation (warning) when merging helper schedules or lesson-by-lesson schedules
'Reading Types' questions now more accurately check to make sure you have studied the kanji in the words used in the questions.
Small changes to some of the icons so they match stylistically.
Changes to lists are now logged for a future way to view changes to a list over time
More detail added to community translations so translators will get information about which of their entries were accepted/changed/etc.
Leaderboard widgets should load much more quickly now.

Slight cleanup of load term modal
New editor for most posts in renshuu
Better handling of "new message posted" alerts in inbox if you visit the post directly, instead of via the alert link
New version of the library used for posting messages throughout renshuu. Try typing # in there, followed by some Japanese!
Better warning when you get too far ahead in your grammar schedule in a grammar/word schedule pack.
In related word lists for kanji, marks if they are non-standard readings

Continuing to (slowly) move all popups and tooltips over to a newer system.
Upgraded emoji menu
For Japanese lessons that have video lessons available, a link will appear on the last panel of the lesson
For PC users, you can use Enter/Return to submit jumble questions
renshuu pro users - you can now fine tune the vocab filter for sentences used it vocab quizzing (under Setting > Sentences)
Serif font should load faster.
Settings panels scroll to top when switching categories
Significant speed improvements to writing pad (introduction of new terms, Quick Draw, renshuu pro writing questions)
**[Fixes]**
In some situations, custom word meanings were not appearing in word popups for example sentences
Searching in Community Lists was not as restrictive as it should have been
Weekly garden request were resetting themselves when set to Monday as the start of the week.
Some unallowed words were not being filtered out of shiritori games
Enter to search was not working on term lists in Firefox mobile
Some vocab terms were not appearing during Focused Review when only a select number of vectors were chosen.
Number of likes were not appearing correctly for grammar usage notes/discussion
Various fixes to kanji/vocab helper
Better ABC detection during fill-in-the-blank answers
Custom words with katakana/hiragana overlay can now be added. (Example: 丸ノ内線/まるのうちせん)
Some kanji clues were not appearing in the crossword puzzles
Kanji mnemonics were not always ordered correctly based on your own likes
Improved handling so that users are not logged out at incorrect times.
Some word popups were not appearing correctly.
Pasting text into Reading Buddy was not toggling search
"Hide English Translations" on Question corner was not being respected when switching pages of answers.
In the Text Analyzer, the plus button for vocabulary was sometimes appearing as active when it should have been.
The calendar icon was not appearing for some grammar lists on the Community Lists page
Hearts gotten on sentence notes were creating inbox alerts that would not automatically get read when tapped.
Some Kao gardens with too many elements placed were not saving any new items.
In sentence jumble, the result box sometimes would misstate what you originally entered.
Numbers for N6 category in discord profile should be better (on next reset, expected beginning of February 2026)
Fixed header on forum search results
"Show no furigana" on Text Analyzer did not work for all words in certain settings configurations.
Sometimes an error would appear when going to a schedule summary, viewing terms, blocking a term, then closing the panel.
The schedule (calendar) button would not work correctly when viewing Assorted groups of lists under My Lists
Better results when searching for user-made terms in terms already in the word list for a vocab list.
Custom words added to lists where not always getting furigana split up correctly.
Fill-in-the-blank drawing pad was not properly restricting answer choices when writing on the Hiragana/Katakana schedules.
Rare issue with sentence quizzes where the rest of the text on the page turned blue

Crowdsourced definitions (choosing which definition belongs to a word in a sentence) are now starting to appear in sentences!
Thanks to one of our crowdsourcing projects, hundreds of native-verified Japanese sentences are getting added in as grammar models in our grammar library!
About 25 new grammar pages (or additions to old grammar pages) made
Massive improvement of reading markings and rare reading inclusion for kanji, new kanji markers in dictionary
Markings for kanji (Kyouiku, Jouyou, Kokuji) and Japanese definitions for kanji added!
New example sentences were added to about 20 expressions in the grammar library that lacked examples.

Limited rollout of counter spelling rules in vocab dictionary
For vocabulary, fill-in-the-blank can now be restricted based on mastery level of the study vector
Under Settings > Kanji, you can now choose to activate rarely-used kanji on a term-by-term basis.
On the Me > My Friends page, you can now require friends to be added in both directions for them to appear to each user.
The app's daily hints are now a widget for the dashboard.
Still considered experimental, but you can restrict multiple choice answers to use words in that schedule.
