掲示板 Forums - Are movies and other medias で or に "places"?

Hi all!

After studying Japanese at Uni for 3 years, and after a fairly large hiatus of 12 years, I decided to pick it up again and Renshuu has been great so far

But let's jump back to the topic at hand. If we're talking about what happens or is being portrayed in a movie, book or other medias (both fictional and not), would you use に or で?

E.g.: In お早う from Yasujirou Ozuで/に、[rest of the sentence].

I briefly checked online, and from what I can tell the particle に is used when a certain degree of focus/analysis of a given work is involved in the next considerations of the sentence , whereas で is more ideal if you are just going to state what happens or follow with something more trivial so to speak.

Is it actually the case? I'd be interested to get a bit more intel about this if any users have some to offer.
