Since this is a forum, different topics are discussed in different threads instead of continuous conversations that change topics, so I can link some threads if there are ones about your interests There are music, tv, art, etc. threads if you like that stuff

Since Michael is the only moderator he had to change the rules, but we can still talk about stuff as long as it's in threads about the subject so it's not really that different, just no "good morning how are you" kind of chatting

Like, no randomly talking about random stuff basically, like starting random conversations that aren't related to anything. To keep the forums organized and safe

If you mean delete it, there's no reason to You can write "(closed)" in the title of the thread

(I mean if you really want to delete it for some reason you can)

The distinction is "chat" vs. "discussion". A discussion is typically focused around a topic, a chat is not.

There is some history to this rule: we had a small group of users who were starting up chat threads that became extremely personal, contained a good amount of content that was making many other users uncomfortable, and was not what I wanted renshuu to be associated with.

We had never had "chat" style topics before then, and after enacting that rule, we have not had any issues since then.

renshuu is not trying to be everything, and as a solo developer, I simply cannot *safely* manage and moderate everything, so shifting chats over to discord (for those who use it) has given me back the time I was using to moderate to work instead on improving renshuu.
