I have three very minor suggestions for a left hand mode for mobile web version.
first: buttons for "mark wrong" and "redo answer" to be moved to left side of the answer box so can press with left thumb. same with "dont know" button.
second: when dictionary is opened by tapping on a word, ability for standard browser back button to close dictionary, instead of having to tap little X at top right of screen. if hard to implement back button, I think a left hand mode should place the X at lower left of window instead of top right so easy to tap with thumb when holding phone in left hand.
third: move the top right little ? house and dictionary icons to top left next to hamburger menu.
I do not plan on adding this due to time restraints. However, most (not all) of these will be possible in the planned user mods section *hopefully* coming to renshuu this spring!
oh so is the usermods going to be something where a custom css or even js can be stored and loaded (or even shared to other users) from renshuu directly without having to be loaded clientside via tampermonkey or stylus? so like moving buttons around and things like that or adding colour themes?
yea, for css at least validation check and then probably sri hash with an immutable url serverside and then when a user wants to use a mod, the mod code can be displayed directly as raw version of the immutable source with a verification check run on the hash. though probably easier thing would be for users to submit mods and u just check/verify them and pick the ones u like the most and then users can select the ones they want to enable.
It'll definitely be a submission/approval process. I might get some helpers from the community to help with that.
Probably...February, I'll start the discussion with the community about what they want, safeguards, etc. If all goes well, I'll start developing it in March/April.
looking forward to it, and u can add me to list to ping if u need ne help, suggestions, or feedback
