I encountered the word in a game but I can't find the word in Renshuu's dictionary.

The closest thing I could find (in the dictionary) is 気障, which means "smug" or "conceited," so I'd assume 障気 means something similar.

You probably meant to write 瘴気(しょうき), it's pretty common in games.

I found only one entry amongst the dictionaries that I used.
Same meaning as 瘴気
ショウキ 山川に生じ、むし暑くてからだに害になるような毒気。
Probably just an alternate old writing.
From the kanji, it makes sense too.
障 (harmful, hindrance, etc) + 気 (air) -> miasma, noxious air, poisonous gas, etc

Upon further investigation, I found a game that uses that version (meaning is the same, maybe with some fantasy flavour)

(I can't link the video, might be an issue with the new system, it's on YouTube with that title)

It's either an alternate, old way of writing it, or a modern take on the word for the purpose of the game. To me the latter seems more plausible.


Edit: I also found a post about a manga chapter that uses it: 障気ダダ漏れのナキカ様、そうとう落ち込んでいるようで…

Here is feels like it might be meant as an alternate way of writing 正気(しょうき) though. Not 100% sure.

Ok, that one might be layered word-play that kinda goes over my head :D
