I, as well as some other users, have found several problems with the new posting display.
1) Sometimes the keyboard just doesn't appear when you click the text box. For example, just a few minutes ago I tried to make this post and I wasn't able to type anything, so I cleared renshuu's cache and restarted the app to get it working again.
2) Apparently, starting a post with a kaomoji doesn't allow you to add text after it. If you put a quote in the same message, another text box will appear above the kaomoji, but the kaomoji itself is still unable to be removed or changed in any way. (as seen below)
3) When an image is added to a message, text can't be added below it. There's nowhere to click that allows you to keep typing beneath the image.
There may be more issues, so if others have had problems with the new format as well, feel free to post them here.
For those interested, it was switching them from an img tag to an i tag with the emoji as a background-image (which is the same way most of the other icons on renshuu are handled).
Now, I have no intention of going back to the old system, so I am 100% motivated to fix all of these bugs, or complain to the library makers (it is the same software as what we were using before, just a newer version) to get it fixed. Please keep them coming, even the small things!
Let me work on the image thing - that feels like the next easiest one.

Once again, no specific cookie crumbs to trace this back to, but every now and then, I'll write out a message and it gets garbled for some reason. For example, I just typed out the message "How is it your favorite if you've never seen it?" Whenever I tried to click anything on the editing bar, it sent me to the top of the page, and when I posted it, the message said "Koop"

I hadn't seen that before! On mobile, I had one when I was trying to edit out a subquote and the entire quote deleted itself instead. So I had to press on the delete button manually until I could just finish it up. It still left the blank subquote section, but I ignored it for my sanity's sake.
Also, on PC, there's a mysterious appearance of a drop down menu all over the site. It was very odd.
This thing was published before vibe coding existed. The previous version of the same library is what renshuu used for many years with almost no issues (just a few quirks), so there was every indication that it would be ok. Also, renshuu's html is so much of a mess that it is entirely possible that, for *some* of the issues (like the tool bar), it could be weirdness caused by renshuu.
Anyway, as always, any reproducible errors are wanted, and I'll do everything I can to knock them out.
I was composing a post with kaomoji on the PC yesterday (they were at the end of two different paragrahs, if it matters) and as I paused to think (maybe I switched tabs too), the kaomoji disappeared. I added them back in, continued writing, and they disappeared again. There did seem to be something left, in that there were extra spaces at the end of those paragraphs. I posted the message like that, just to see if they appeared in the final product – they did not. I edited the post and pressed "save" immediately after adding them – that worked.
Also, on the app, I can't seem to delete pictures in posts anymore. When tapping, they get covered by that blueish "mask" for a split second, then that disappears, leaving just the blueish "frame" around the image. Placing the cursor after them and pressing backspace doesn't work either. Maybe I'm missing something obvious, though.
