Hi guys, im kinda new to learning japanese and i already know hiragana and katakana but im struggling a lot with learning the kanji especially onyomi and kunyomi, are there any tricks to memorize them easier?
All kinds, but many don’t work very well. The main thing I emphasize is to focus on one thing at a time. Every character has multiple readings, a radical, a stroke order and a bunch of vocabulary. You can’t possibly learn all that at once and expect it to stick.
Also, just do one character at a time. By default, renshuu gives you six new characters with every quiz. That’s fine if you’re catching up on things you’ve already learned in the past, but for new material it’s overwhelming. Consider changing your quiz settings to introduce just one or two new terms.
Finally, take advantage of the unique customizable mnemonics that renshuu offers. Your mnemonic is your opportunity to put everything that you want to remember about a character in one easily accessible place. You’ll see it every time you review the character. Be sure to review it carefully and improve it if you can.

I struggled a lot with this too, but studying kanji has become my favorite part of learning Japanese. I'll tell you what's working for me, in case it helps. When I begin a new kanji schedule, I go into the kanji quiz settings and turn off the kanji to kana/kana to kanji part so that I can focus solely on the kanji meanings. I also adjusted my profile settings to have all of the kanji displayed in vocabulary & sentence questions. I've found that I naturally pick up the various kanji pronunciations as I learn new words containing those kanji. Once I complete a kanji schedule, then I go back and adjust those specific settings to include the kanji pronunciations just to make sure I've fully mastered the material before moving on.
