For me, Japanese seems like a very interesting and challenging language to me. Learning a language is one of my hobbies to do, as well as I’m interested in learning more about Japan’s culture kao_sparkle.png

i have a really silly reason i think, but its that a lot of obscure game content, especially from nintendo and the like, some of it isn't translated into english. mainly the obscure things like puyo puyo tetris for the wii u, or rhythm heaven for the GBA, and stuff like that. but I started learning mainly so I could read things like that
also eventually I do want to go to japan, so, you know. that is also a reason

Mostly to prove to myself that I can. I have a hard time sticking to things that I start, but I'm determined this time! I've always thought the language was interesting, and I'd heard so many times how hard it was for an English speaker to learn, so I've always wanted to challenge myself with it.

And we are planning a Japan trip in the next year or two! <3

I enjoy Japanese pro-wrestling and would like to be less reliant on them having English commentary.

Initially I started learning japanese for pretty much no reason, I found the japanese characters so artistic, I was naturally drawn in. Well yeah, japanese media of any kind did give me a push forward to learn more but it was poems that did the thing. Now, I really just want to be able to write exceptional poems in japanese because expressions in all the languages are so distinct and specific to the area that when you apply it to your linguistics and literary art forms – what you find is a whole new world. kao_yoroshiku.png

I want to learn 4 languages Spanish, French, Japanese, and Chinese. that way I have a total of 5 languages that I know. I was originally gonna start with spanish but Japanese seems more fun to learn right now and I like a challenge. plus no more sub vs dub anime debate for me lol.

Yeah, those debates to be fee so dumb. I watch subs to listen to how they pronounce the words and rarely use dubs so I can get a more “real” feeling to a certain anime. Also, subs or either inaccurate or doesn’t show up during scenes of intense fighting, for example during scenes where explosions are going off, no subs are registering even tho people are talking
