In a textbook, a test or just in a book, it will be probably を. In polite japanese too, where you tend to make more complete sentences. But otherwise, in casual conversation, は is more natural.
Basically, textbook japanese, japanese that you found in test, book or polite japanese tend to make more structured and complete sentences. On the other hand, japanese tend to be very lazy efficient in casual conversation. So they skip everything that's not necessary if there is a context.
