Heya, I've encountered this word in a poem I've been studying (「汚れっちまった悲しみに」、中原中也) in the following stanza:
汚れつちまつた悲しみは なにのぞむなくねがふなく 汚れつちまつた悲しみは 懈怠のうちに死を夢む
From my limited understanding there are "oddities" or archaisms in the poem (倦怠 read けだい, 革裘...) so I'm wondering if this is similar - is it something currently in use, is it a poetic licence, does it hold a different meaning that 夢見る？
Please note that I'm a beginner-ish just translating things way above my skills for my own fun.
You're welcome! I hadn't read any of 中原中也's works before, I might check out more of his poems. This one was very fun to read and not too difficult for me :)
