I’ve noticed this is not a thing on the grammar dictionary here, and I think it probably should be, for those of us who want to move on to read classical literature in Japanese or understand the dialogue in a noh play. Maybe things like Western Old Japanese na plural marker (Vovin, Alexander [2020]. A Descriptive and Comparative Grammar of Western Old Japanese: Revised, Updated and Enlarged 2nd Edition, vol. 1,pp. 119–23) might be a bit too obscure an entry to add, but at the very least such basic features as ～ず, ～む, ～けり, ～そうろう, and some common kakari-musubi should probably be there.
I'd love to have a kobun-english dictionary but that doesn't seem to be a thing out there in general. I've only found monolingual dictionaries online, unfortunately.
Renshuu is made for modern Japanese only. I guess it might be confusing for beginner students to encounter kobun grammar in the dictionary.
Maybe it could be added and marked „archaic“, „historical“ or something, similar to vocabulary from pre-Meiji periods…?

I would love that! 🥳 And I believe it‘s useful even if you‘re not reading classical japanese literature. Even watching Taiga Dramas (大河ドラマ), Shogun or any Samurai stories make you realize there‘s some „older“ grammar. 😅
I doubt that Michael has either the time or the interest to do a classical grammar, but perhaps it would be possible to extend the existing grammar-points pages with user-contributed points. These would have to be clearly labeled as unofficial, but they would be useful for classical grammar, slang, dialect and more.
When d'oing UI translation I did stumble upon kobun related stuff, but that never made it into the site. It would be easy to create custom words, grammar, etc. if we had access to those tags.

I asked a friend of mine if he could find information on what Classical grammar or vocabulary is taught in what grade in Japanese schools. He hasn’t responded yet.
I think maybe we could start with a list of ‘seventh grade classical grammar’ to add to study lists, then eighth, and so forth. Maybe in the future there could be Old Japanese lists as well, but that’s far off from now.
