OTOH I found that the free books on Tadoku are great. It's an excellent resource. You can find a lot of them on youtube too.
Also OP, if you go on Renshuu's discord, you'll find the reading group thread with links to various reading material. Why not join the beginners' group there? Also a user here has kindly created vocab lists for the reading matter on Renshuu's discord in "community lists" (search "book club") which might be helpful.
Another idea: I don't know where you live, but don't discount your local library. I actually found three books of good reading material for learners in my local library last week, including one book with a voice track of the narrated stories available on line and another which came with a CD.
