I’m a Pro user and I was wondering if there’s a way to study one own questions in a sentences deck. I tried creating a sentence manually but the sentences appears as “can’t study”.

If the custom sentence has been broken into smaller words (or expressions) properly (and linked to the dictionary applicably), the study-vectors of the sentence-quizzing will make use of those chunks and then the custom question can be studied. If it's not, i.e. entire sentence is just one big chunk, then it can't be quizzed upon.

To parse your private sentences as アプリの使 explained, under the "Me" section go to "My Writing"→"Private sentences", and click the link button next to your sentence to bring up the parsing dialogue where you can choose the correct words to use. The sentence still needs to be long enough to jumble the elements (i.e. more than 2 words long) to be able to appear in sentence quizzes; if you want to study sentences that can't jumble, you need to enable the "Basic comprehension" vector in your schedule settings, which just asks whether you understand or not.

And once your private sentence is linked to the dictionary, it will also be added to the pool of sentences that can show up in the Pro vocabulary sentence questions.kao_sparkles.png

I parsed the sentence but it still doesn’t show up in the mastery schedule.

I followed the instructions (thank you!) and I was able to parse the sentence. However, the sentence still doesn’t appear available to study for some reason - any idea why that could be the case?

What is the sentence, and what study vectors do you have enabled in the schedule it's in? Does the sentence show as "Can't study" on your schedule page, or is it just not being introduced when you use the Study button?

If the sentence doesn't have enough elements that Renshuu is able to automatically shuffle them into a jumble question, you cannot study with that vector.

Private sentences don't have audio, so you cannot study them with the listening vector.

"Basic comprehension" is the catch-all vector that should be able to quiz you on any sentence regardless.

The sentence finally showed up, I guess I just needed to wait a minute? The only problem now is that the parsing was very incorrect with evening basic terms having been match to the wrong term. I realised that when I use the Text Analyzer I guess much better results; do you know if it’s possible to use the same parser for sentences?

If the sentences are not coming out as expected, you may want to try manually binding them to get the desired results.

When you use the sentence parser, you have the option of changing which words everthing binds to. In the text box at the top, you can change where spaces are placed if the words are broken up incorrectly, and you can put (parentheses) around any parts you want to force to be parsed together when you press the reparse button. In the section below, anything that can be attached to multiple dictionary entries will have a dropdown allowing you to select the correct one.

Some words written in kana that have a "Rarely written as" kanji form in their dictionary entry need to be written in that form in order to be recognized by the parser.

If the parser absolutely won't recognize a valid dictionary entry when you try to parse it after adjusting the spaces, trying (parentheses), and applying any "rarely written as" forms, click the ? button at the top and use "Contact us" to send マイコー the exact sentence you're trying to use and explain which words aren't being recognized so he can look into why the parser isn't working correctly. You could also point to the text you have in the Text Analyzer that parsed correctly so he can compare the logic being used between them.

You’ve been so kind and patient, thank you so much! 🙏 I’ll play around with the different options and see if I can get to the desired results, otherwise I’ll use the contact us option as per your recommendation.
