who here has been to Nara Park? If so~what's it like?!
the shika ate my tshirt because it had a crumb left on it....
My strongest memory is lots of small children crying inconsolably because they were scared of the deer. Heard enough screams of 「こわい」 that I'll never forget it
It's a sight worth seeing, but the Nara deer are a menace. If they think you have senbei they will show no mercy.
In my experience, the deers on Miyajima are more aggressive. The ones in Nara only ate the senbei. But both are great places to visit.
I remember trying to get a selfie with the deer and my friends warning me I'd get my face bitten off getting so close lol...the deer didn't care. Most were just lazing about. I didn't feel in danger although I wouldn't do that again out of a general feeling of not bothering animals.
Man, now I really wanna feed deers せんべい rn... wait WHAT IF THEY EAT ME???!!!
when I went to Japan in 2013, I was in Nara park, there I fed deer with some special crackers or something, I think the deer miss me by now, they liked me
When I went there, it was an enjoyable experience.
I thought the deer were very cute. I was surprised at both how small they were compared to their North American cousins, and at how numerous they were.
