They currently show up as ? or as device default for the very basic emojis.

Certain other Unicode characters like 𢦏 have the same problem. I think some ancient code must be using a 2000s-era version of the Unicode specification.

Seems good so far, thanks!

Though one thing of note is that certain emojis, like ♥ are showing up as the textual version instead of the emoji.

I'm honestly not sure what is causing that, but I doubt it's on my end - there isn't much in the way of encoding changes/etc. within renshuu, so all that I did was adjust the encoding on the field in the database. So it is most likely somewhere else in the software stack :(
