It is, but to really be able to write and to read it without thinking isn't achievable in such a short time. If you want to be effective, you should start with writing as soon as possible. When you can write a certain character, you definitely know its reading. That is my opinion ofc.
You can pick up a working knowledge of both sets with a few minutes of study. Actually mastering them takes longer, but you can move on to learning words and phrases while that is progressing. It will actually help reinforce your kana.
In college we did hiragana in one week and then katakana the next week. It definitely is doable in one week but I second writing the characters because that’s the only way it will melt into your brain. Also practicing reading and writing is what solidifies it so don’t be discouraged if you have them memorized but feel frustrated that reading and writing still isn’t seamless. That just comes with time and practice.
