Just saw a Kao lesson in which Kao's mother was trying (unsuccessfully) to feed broccoli to a baby-Kao, and the mother looked exactly like Kao. So that would sadly disprove the theory that he/she/they came out of a cat egg. Which, you know, is a pity because oh, the possibilities.
I return with fresh news, having just obtained this gacha:
This yukata (and the position) are more boy-ish, aren't they?
I don't think Kao-chan has any definite gender, I just find it fun to watch all the transformations. One thing's for sure: Kao-chan looks good in everything! ❤️
And I have three more pieces of evidence. KAO-CHAN IS A GIRL!!!!!
coin 1. Kao-chan has such long hair and those clothes. Coin 2. Kao-chan has eyelashes, which isn't really seen in the other photos. Coin 3. Kao-chan is wearing those clothes. Again(except purple with patterns).
Kao coins are simply artist interpretations I think マイコー doesn't want anyone to have to worry about what gender Kao is so that's why Kao doesn't have any

The earlier ones, but they're still made form themes and they're not necessarily supposed to be what Kao actually looks like. I mean Kao isn't food or household items of course so I wouldn't take any of them very literally
