So I've noticed that I do put in English translations, but for some reason whenever I check out my post after someone likes or comments on it, the translations disappear. Is there any way to fix this?

that’s probably a bug, tho. Make a bug post about it.

That would be good to do. Can you show me how to find the page where I can report the bug?

You could start a new topic in the bugs section.

I figured it out. Thanks! I posted it on the Bugs/Problems forum with the title, "My Own English Translation Not Showing Up".

I am not sure if I understood the question I just answered in the corner cause i could examine it character by character and not have a full translation. Is there something I could do? I manually put things in the dictionary to try to understand it better but I am still not sure. I hope a full translation to english for the questions could be available so i could learn how to ask questions and be able to answer them as well

I do *not* send junk mail - it was possible that someone sent a comment, and then deleted it. It is rare, but it does happen. At the moment, deleting a comment does not remove the message in the inbox, but I'll hopefully be able to fix that in the future.

Oh, I just thought of something else. Do you know if there are special characters we can insert that doesn't automatically kanafy a Latin letter? I had to use @s for Smash Bros. Melee player aMSa because the a would automatically turn into あ. This isn't the first time this has happened.

The abc to kana converter is for beginners. If you’ve reached the point of wanting to mix romaji and kana, it’s time to investigate your options for virtual Japanese keyboards.

I have a Japanese keyboard on my phone, it just doesn't have Latin letters in it. I just have kana, numbers, and special characters, and it has predictive text.

Weird. But you can always switch keyboards mid sentence. It’s something I do routinely when I’m writing on renshuu.

I guess maybe I should try another keyboard... any recommendations?

Also, I tried writing a band name with special characters in the Latin alphabet to try to not have the letters be kanafied, and the app straight-up told me I wasn't putting in enough effort.

I'm honestly not sure how necessary this is. Like if there's someone who straight-up writes an English sentence in the Japanese section, it should be easy to spot, report, and get removed.

Reporting puts the burden on the users - while it's nice that some people report, most do not, and I have seen some inappropriate sentences which were months old, but not reported.

I am always willing to look at tweaking the "spam" filter, though - I'll need the original sentence though so see what's going on.

I just added the first two changes to the Question Corner!

XP went from 5 points to 2 points for submissions, but you'll get the full 5 points if you include an English translation.

I've also included an auto-parser that, *most* of the time, will correctly parse your sentences, making it take much less time to bind your sentence to the dictionary and get all that extra info added to your submissions.

Will expand this feature out elsewhere once I get more feedback on it.

My first instinct for the example sentence above is to hit the No button, because looks like two words instead of one. I know better, but it seems like it will cause confusion. Can you tweak the furigana display any to help?

Another minor thing:#COMM_WENGLISH_XP# didn’t get replaced with localized text.

I'm, absolutely and no doubt, in deep love with this new feature. Great job! Thank you, Michael and Saki! This will certainly be of a lot of help...

The furigana style is the same as everywhere else on the site, so probably going to leave it be - you can always tap on the words to confirm them. As for the localization - I think that was temporary? Looks good on my end.
