i still haven’t read or seen violet evergarden but i’ll keep your opinion in mind!
in terms of anime, i find the One Punch Man manga insanely more interesting (artistically)! you can really appreciate the mangaka’s style and humour!
Literally every episode of Violet Evergarden had me crying my eyes out, its so heartfelt I love it so much!!
I enjoyed the first season of one punch man a lot, and i bet the manga is really interesting too! its one of those really self aware creations that i enjoy, so i have no doubt that you're right, the mangaka's style and humour probably shine much better in the manga!
I really want to watch Spy x Family! I've seen a bunchof youtube clips, but i'll have to wait till it goes free on crunchyroll in some amount of years, or such. The clips are adorable and wholesome for sure! waku waku
I really like the Promised Neverland series, the whole thing is a mystery. The second season of the adaptation was less than stellar. I also liked the overlord light novels, the anime is good, but it's missing so much.
That's how I feel about Spice & Wolf, altho i haven't seen the anime, i feel like the light novel just has so much that the anime can't replicate I guess. I wouldn't say i have a very vivid imagination but I felt like Spice and Wolf would almost do good as a real life adaptation somehow, it felt like Lord of the Rings at times the way the conversations and stuff went, but maybe that's just how i feel with most fantasy books as opposed to reading manga with illustrations. Maybe it was just better as a light novel to me because it was so dialogue heavy, but yeah. It is frustrating that most anime/movie adaptations have to leave stuff out, i felt that way about Harry Potter as well
I know the feeling! If i had the money, there are so many manga sets i want to buy, some that i have read (in english) and some that i haven't (in either language), and they would motivate me so much to learn japanese! I would love to just have a room dedicated to manga but alas, i cannot afford it.
Have you considered buying a Shonen Jump subscription? I believe they provide access to digital manga for a small monthly fee. I'd go for digital manga myself but I like the novelty of owning an actual book, hence why my bookshelves are completely full and have been for ages.
I also wish I could download manga on my kindle, but I managed to break my kindle by dropping, of all things, a kendama ball on it
Oh no! I can relate to this because I've dropped so many phones and the cases did nothing to save the screens. My only experience with a Kindle was about a decade ago. I had one for casual gaming and, for whatever reason, the Kindle had what I can only assume were massive air vents on the back of the device. Where my hands usually were. So it was constantly blowing extremely hot air onto my hands... I ended up getting rid of it after a while because it was always blazing hot like the surface of the sun. I assume the reading Kindles are much nicer than the one I had, though.
i have the first 12 pokemon adventure books in english that i bought for my brother but he never read them! i love green from pokemon adventures and i kinda wish she was in the original pokemon anime. total blast of nostalgia, did you see the one shot movie they did about red? i mean i dont think it followed pokemon adventures as much as the original games, but it still hit me right in the nostalgia feels for sure T__T
I never saw the movie, but I'd like to see it sometime soon. I recently picked up the Pokémon Adventures manga after a long break because I saw a collector's edition with multiple manga bundled in one book. I started off with the Johto region because I was playing Pokémon Crystal at the time, but I did read about half of the story for Kanto a long time ago.
black bullet: (the anime is also great and the light novel isnt continued anymore but the story that plays after the anime is really great)
Full metal panic: 1st, 2nd and fumoffu season great but the 3rd season is kinda average. The light novel is great from the beginng to the end
Seraph of the end, guren ichinose catastrophe at 16: much better then the main story in my opinion and basically the backstory of guren
manga:
Gantz because its a absolute legend and classic and the anime doesnt work anymore
onani master kurosawa, super strange story but in a great way and i will never forget it because i was really addicted to reading it. Nearly made me cry two times in public xD
beelzebub because im missing all the great characters :D
Not really talking about manga that are better but just in general these series are notable.
I’ve read and watched 450+ anime but here are a few more well known ones
in terms of meaning and messages
Mobile suit gundam(universal century):people tend to think the giant robots are goofy, but there’s lots of scientific concepts and realistic depictions of war and politics. The series does not hold back in showing the horrors of war and is truly an anti-war series. Many people don’t want to watch it because it’s hard to get into but it is truly worth it.
Attack on titan: conflict will continue as long as humanity exists
"How do we relationship?" From all of what I've watched and read this manga has some of the best written characters from how realistic and relatable they are and how fun they are.
