Thanks for the memory palace write up. This is the second time in the past month someone on renshuu has enthusiastically recommended it. I know that it is a powerful technique for learning arbitrary sequences. I’ll be interested to hear how well you find that it works for learning Japanese.

Here’s the cover, if it’s any help

Thank you for writing this detailed essay 電子のデザート!! I actually watched a video about this method on YouTube some months ago I would like to use this method to memorizing difficult vocabulary
Do you think I should ask my teacher to practice difficult words with me or is it something I can do by myself with some memorizing methods?
I'd say study words for topics you're going to actually want to talk about but for tutoring I'd probably focus on grammar and then incorporate the vocabularies you learn by yourself
Use your teacher for things you can’t do yourself. Pronunciation and pitch accents, politeness levels, slang, dialogue.
You select a succession of locations, preferably not crowded by people, and choose your starting location. For example, you could start at your front door and move through your house, or you could start at the corner of your block, and go around choosing locations all the way back to your house, or basically anywhere, as long as you know your locations well enough to mentally travel through them.
Are you supposed to use the same location over and over again? Bc like what if you have terrible situational awareness and can't remember any specific things about a location
If you have “terrible situation awareness,” the memory palace method may not be the best approach for you. I don’t use it myself: I always forget what goes where in real life anyway.
It works because a huge chunk of the brain is devoted to vision.
At my school every 8th grade class does sort of a senior project kinda thing and im writing an album, so I have to write a 12 page essay in music production. The end product will be released on Spotify near the end of the school year But i haven’t made my artist account because I can’t think of an artist name for myself, or a name for my album:( I need help ( ̄▽ ̄) please…
It’s going to be an instrumental album so that I can benefit from it by using it while studying (I can’t have lyrics when studying my brain won’t work) also I suck at singing
