Did a quick search and didn't see this mentioned before, but in the quizzes for the Japanese Basics Lesson 11, whenever the answer is 「ある」、「いる」 gets rendered as「居る」. This does not happen when the answer is 「いる」. I've seen this both on Firefox on Windows desktop and on the iOS app.

Do you have this option enabled?

Show kanji for words commonly written in hiragana If chosen, the site will show kanji for a word even if it is typically shown in kana only
